Highlights: Atlantic Concrete Cutting was contracted to
perform wall sawing and core drilling of the pier caps of the
Trenton - Morrisville Route 1 bridge to facilitate the installation
of brackets for use in expanding the bridge. Pockets for the
brackets were removed with a combination of wall sawing and hand
chain sawing. Core drilling was performed to make holes for the
mounting bolts of the brackets. Work over the land was performed
from a lift, but work over the water had to be done in cramped
platforms that were temporarily bolted to the sides of the
piers.
