Pier about to be lifted out by crane.
COHANSY RIVER PIER REMOVAL

Contracting Agent:
South State

Project Location:
Bridgeton, NJ

Project Highlights:
Atlantic Concrete Cutting was contracted to wire saw the piers and abutment walls of the Cohansy River Bridge in order to cut them into manageable pieces to ease removal. The use of wire sawing allows for the cutting of very large sections of concrete without the danger of causing debris that could contaminate the river water. South State removed the pieces by crane and placed them in the yard where they became picnic benches and standing works of art until they were ultimately removed from the site.
