Atlantic Concrete Cutting was contracted to wire saw an eight foot notch in the spillway of the Brisbane Lake Dam. This was being done to relieve some of the water pressure against the aging dam for fear that it will soon fail. Bracing was then added to help support the side walls after the spillway was cut down. This was an emergency, temporary measure that had to be taken while a new dam is being designed and built.
