Highlights:
This project included multiple wire saw cuts in
the 48" thick concrete roof of the Battery Park Tunnel for removal
by crane. The roof was 84' long and 15' wide, resulting in cutting
and removing 1,260 square feet of material. Preparation included
core drilling assorted 8" diameter pick holes and 2" diameter access
holes for the wire saw. Operations were conducted around the clock
from 7:00 p.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Monday morning to meet production
requirements while minimizing disruptions to traffic. Atlantic
Concrete Cutting Inc. came in 18 hours ahead of schedule on the
first phase and 12 hours ahead of schedule on the second phase for
this project.

Atlantic Concrete Cutting was on the Battery Park Tunnel job
when the crew from Everyone Loves Raymond came by after their last
night of shooting. (Our guy is the one kneeling.)
